Jerry Yates

"Snow Tires"

Jerry was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky into a family of artists. 
He followed his creative bent, after service in the Navy,
to a degree in Architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo,
followed with a Masters in Art from Indiana State University. 


"Stargazer One"

He began teaching in 1975 and later became
Chairman of the Interior Architectural Design Department
at California State University at Long Beach. 
Among the design classes in his vitae were drawing and watercolor rendering. And thus began his passion for watercolor.
He obtained his license in Architecture in 1976,
and founded Yates Assoc. - Architects in 1980
where he practiced both residential and commercial Architecture.

 
"Hidden Doorway"

At the conclusion of both successful careers,
Jerry has moved to idyllic Northern Idaho
to immerse himself in nature and watercolor.
