Jerry Ferrara
Nature and Wildlife Photographer

Jerry & Vicki Ferrara
For over thirty years, nature and wildlife photographer Jerry Ferrara
has explored the environment with camera and lens.

"Talons on the Wind"
As a child, he had a keen interest in the natural world.
Later in life, studies in the formal sciences of biology and zoology were encouraged by family and mentors.
His photographic education was gained through experience: he is self-taught.

Jerry’s photos have appeared in numerous national and international media.
The emphasis of his work has been the production of natural history stock images and self -
as well as commissioned - editorial assignments.
Notable past clients include the National Wildlife Federation, Audubon, the World Wildlife Fund and the BBC.
One of his images, an orangutan, was used by the late pop artist, Andy Warhol, in ‘The Endangered Species” series. http://www.coskunfineart.com/details.asp?ID=484).

Jerry is now working exclusively with his stock image bank as well as current captures to produce prints.
He uses Nikon cameras and glass and prints with a professional-grade Epson printer
in tandem with long-lasting Epson papers and inks for the final products.
Jerry and his wife, Vicki, live in Sagle, Idaho.

"My Space"
Frame by frame, Jerry Ferrara's adventurous skills
take us on an unexpected outdoor experience.
With artful intuition he snaps the shutter with impeccable timing and captures rarely seen moments
in nature such as dive-bombing eagles, antler-locked bull elk, majestic moose,
stormy skies popping with fiery light and the surreal aura of a solar eclipse.
Ferrara's work is sensitive, daring investigative, and at times, humorous.
To see Ferrara's work is to journey on the wild side of life.

PHOTOGRAPHER’S STATEMENT
“Working a species in depth has been and continues to be a major goal, especially if there’s a chance to capture interesting behavior. At the same time, it brings great joy to share what is seen through the lens with others. Above all else, it is hoped, in some small way, this endeavor contributes to the appreciation, benefit and welfare of the subjects.”
