Dorothy Modafferi
watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, cards & prints
A native of Long Beach, California, Dorothy has lived
in Hope, Idaho since 1996.
She received her BA in Fine Arts from Occidental College.

While in California, she was an active member of
the San Diego Watercolor Society, a founding member
of Gallery Vista, and co-owner of Carlsbad Village Faire Gallery.

Dorothy enjoys painting the nature around her.
"I consider my work to be 'impressionistic realism,'
with an emphasis on color.
I strive to create paintings that the viewer responds to
and enjoys living with.
While watercolor is my primary medium, I also enjoy experimenting with different techniques and media."
Her diverse media includes printmaking, etchings, monoprints.
Sunny Delight
As a member of Hope Garden Club and
the Sandpoint Kinnikinnick Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society, she is on the committee to build a Native Plants Arboretum
in Lakeview Park in Sandpoint.
Wildflower Hike
Community activities find Dorothy as a past board member
of Pend Oreille Arts Council in Sandpoint,
and a member of the volunteer "Art for the Soul" committee,
which obtains fine art to display at Bonner General Hospital. 
Birch Trees
Dorothy is active in the Idaho Watercolor Society
and the NorthWest Watercolor Society in Washington.
Recent juried exhibits include shows with IWS in Boise,
NWWS in Seattle, Spokane Watercolor Society,
and Art on the Green in Coeur d'Alene.
