Connie Scherr "I loved the watercolor medium, The Last Wagon Load San Blas Ruins
Watercolor, Oil, Cards & Prints
Born in Minneapolis, Connie Scherr grew up
in Southern California
and spent many weekends and vacations
between Mexico at their family cabin and back
to Minnesota to be with family.
Birch Trees
Connie started working in pastels and oils
when she was 12 years old, and studied art in college.
After marrying her husband Les and moving to the mountains of Utah, Connie was introduced to watercolors by a friend and never looked back.
Bottoms Up
and with a small son and daughter,
I found I could finish a painting in much less time
than oils - I was hooked.
I took watercolor workshops from Al Knoke, Kathrine Haynes, Zolton Zabo and the "Workshop on Wheels" from the Un. of I.
A long-time resident of Sandpoint, Idaho,
Connie and Les like to travel when time permits.
Connie comes home to her studio
on the shores of beautiful Lake Pend Orielle
to re-create the scenes from her travels.
Vallarta Way
When traveling, Connie sketches and photographs
the surroundings that she hopes will inspire the viewer to find that special beach, open that enticing door,
or taste that spicy pepper.
