Paintings, Sculptures

I was born in Louisiana, and grew up in the redwood country of Northern California.
I was very much a tomboy in my young life and my brother and I rambled thru the woods every day,
building treehouses, looking at animals and feeling a part of the wild.

My love of the scenery and wildlife stems from that I am sure.
My husband and I moved to Montana after his 21 year stint in the Navy
during which we moved our family every few years.

We have lived here in Montana for 35 years now and I have a studio and gallery of my work in Noxon,
a small town close to the border.
We have three daughters, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

My first love is painting watercolor,
but often I see or imagine a painting in oil and that is the medium I paint it in.
I also do porcelain sculptures of both bears and people.
I feel there is a connection there somewhere!

I began painting when I was 14 and it has given me a lot of pleasure thru the years.
My work can be seen in Sandpoint, Idaho,  and the Amber Bear Inn in Heron, Montana,
and at my studio, Golden Willow Gallery  in Noxon, Montana.
It may also be viewed on my website http://www.goldenwillowgallery.com/ and on http://www.artexchange.com/

I studied art under Raymond Rike, in Puerto Rico, and Glenn Funk, in Montana
and it makes me feel good that my paintings reside in collections in many countries.
I feel that the beauty of God's world is the prime mover for an artist to try and capture just a small piece of it!

Barbara also offers cards and prints of her work.
